ch 9
3/14 mco den UA 215 - FA didn't turn on any audio until we were airborne.
Didn't remember to post my last 9 flights but haven't gotten Ch 9 for a LONG time! I don't understand why. It is one of the few ways I can relax while flying and catnap on planes. Otherwise, each ascent, decent, turn and bump give me complete adrenaline dump - ch9 let's me anticipate and relax even in bad weather or bad situations.

Big Thumbs Up!
3/14 UA835 ORD-PVG, on from push-back to pull-in -- about 15 hours! ^^^^^ The route was over central Alaska, across the Bering Strait, and then Siberia. So lots of great listening. Kudos to Captain Griffin for keeping it on the entire journey. Via the Purser I sent up my business card with a "thank you" -- and he sent back his card with a "you're very welcome"! Funny thing was, his card is the 747 card and we were on a 777. He apologized saying he just changed airplanes and didn't have new cards yet (Our 777 was in "new United" colors.)

3/14 372 DEN-SFO ^ --especially useful for on the ground waiting during the ground hold
3/14 820 SFO-SEA I asked about it on boarding, the copilot looked at the board, and said it wasn't working. Don't know if it wasn't working or if they just wanted it off.
3/14 180 SFO-BOS An announcement was made that it would be on, but I couldn't get it. It was an overnight flight, so I didn't press it much while I slept.

Asked upon boarding if the purser could ask the Captain. She literally screamed at me that it wouldn't be on and don't bother asking.

FA doing her welcome announcement mentioned how UA has "gate to gate audio and tower communications" but the audio didn't come on until after takeoff and there was no Channel 9

Announcement made during climbout. On the entire flight. I enjoyed the transoceanic radio traffic.

3/26 UA954 (B757) LAX-SFO ^ (but audio not on until after takeoff)
3/26 UA760 (B767) SFO-ORD ^^^ (as already reported by FriendlySkies)
3/26 UA129 (A320) ORD-LAX ^ (announced by purser; captain looked a bit startled when I thanked him after the flight for having Channel 9 available)
A pretty good day for Channel 9, I'd say.
