Merger Day Oct 1, 2010: what will be - and was - announced?

It's 3 days away... list the things you expect to be announced ON DAY 1... NOT IN THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO OR THREE.. DAY ONE.

My predictions:

1. Roll out the new livery..picks of a newly repainted CO plane have already leaked.

2. DEQM for both carriers

3. Reciprocal upgrades for elites of both carriers to be started immediately or very soon..not at the gate, in advance with priority given by status.

4. Free well drinks, beer, house wine in all RCC's.

What else?

  1. E+ for the whole fleet.
  2. No free DEQM (possibly pay-per-flight on UA like CO's EQM Accelerator)

I could forgive the terrible livery if we got DEQM and a confirmation of E+ fleetwide...

New commercials, featuring the new livery, whatever music they chose (PLEASE BE RHAPSODY!!), and the global access that customers can now enjoy.

Announcements of new routes

Information regarding Airbus/Boeing fleet, and deciding if they will keep the A319/320, or sell them.. (hopefully not!!!)

announcement of hot sammiches on UA BOB?

It is set to go into rotation on Oct 1, so it seems to me, that would be in some lockstep with UA. However I don't know the status of ovens on UA a/c.

The only aircraft which I believe don't have them are the converted TED aircraft.

Then of course all of the UX aircraft as well.

All mainline aircraft have ovens. How else would they serve a hot meal in F?

Understood, but they would still need some in the Y galley for enough to serve hot BOB as well.

I thought customer day 1 was sometime next year, and until then most stuff is behind the scenes things, and stuff that doesn't get to customers.

Of course, I forgot about the hot food in Y.. I suppose they could add an oven or two in the aft galley on the Airbus and 757 fleets..

Right this is merger day one, not customer day one. Got any predictions?

Customer Day One is when everything is (supposed to be) seamless, but there's no reason they can't make announcements Friday.

I would expect them to announce officially that MP will be the surviving FF program and that OP accounts will be merged/linked in the next couple of months. Also, expect something to come out of Chase about a common credit card.
