Yes, I agree that the CO livery (which is now "United") is much better than the old battleship grey colors, but so what? This has just been such a huge conspiracy from the word go. It will take some time for most people to cotton on.

There is no accounting for taste. It's strictly in the eye of the beholder. What you might think is beautiful (e.g., the so-called "tulip") Jeff Smisek probably thinks is nothing but trash.
Time to move on to more substantive issues, especially since you can't see the livery when you are sitting in the plane, anyway!

Battleship grey wasn't UA's current livery, so the point is moot. And even then, that livery is still newer than the crap CO has. If UA is so hell bent on bringing old liveries, bring back the Rainbow Scheme.

I prefer the term business grey and I loved it! Such a sign of boring times in history but it has always connected with me as a "business traveler". I also like the current UA livery. The new combined is still growing on me.

Hardly, considering that a large portion of the fleet is still wearing it (including the 777 I always see at SEA).

If it is not the merger, I can see UA finish all 3 class 777 by now and move on to 2 class 777 and 2 class 763. The merger stopped all the repainting.

And right around now they would be painting, too, since the final 747s were painted around this time last year and a few 777s.

I'm not sure if there's more of these out there now, but I definitely saw a newly liveried UA plane at HKG this morning. Looked like a 737, but I'm certainly no aircraft expert. Guessing it had just come in from GUM?

That would be a strange sight to see a little 737 in such a far off destination.

Saw one of the newly painted 738s at IAH last week and really hated it
