Definition of 'Roundtrip'?
Maybe this is a rhetorical question, but how does UA define a roundtrip? Start and end-point being the same? Is SEA->IAD->ORD->IAD->SEA roundtrip? What about SEA->LAX->NRT->LAX on one pnr and LAX->IAD->SEA on a different pnr? What about RTW? I don't seem to be able to find any defnition on UA's website...

This is from the T&Cs on the latest "Fly 3, Fly Free. Fly 6, Fly First" promotion:
"Roundtrip travel is defined as two one-way trips that depart from and return to the same co-terminal booked in a single reservation under one qualifying ticket number." Looks like you have to have the whole itinerary in one PNR. |
It may depend on context? When trying to use an online discount cert, the system won't let you price, say, OAK-DEN-IND and return IND-ORD-OAK.

This could be interesting - I have a SEA->IAD->DCA->ORD->MSP->ORD->DCA->SEA trup coming up. How many roundtrips will this be? ;-) I guess you can't have 2 roundtrips on the same PNR.
If the two one-way fares rule is enforced I guess RTW fares does not count either....:-( |

Gosh! I can't believe it's been over 3 years!
