how to determine E+ availability?
forgive the novice question, but when UA/ITN's booking engine won't show any "premium" seats available on the SFO-TPE flight (even though the rest of the a/c is practically empty for many, many days around late-Feb), does this mean they've only restricted access to them or that every E+ seat is all booked up?
thx! |
E+ seats do not have their own fare bucket. This is because a flight may have all the seats reserved in E-, but there could be discounted fares available that would not have seats immediately available for selection. Y pax can be seated in either E+ or E-. As opposed to J or C pax, for example, which are ONLY seated in business.

Sorry for the simple answer, but you are logged in right? If you are not logged in witnh a MP number that is allowed to sit in those seats, the E+ seats will not show as being available. Same thing for exit rows.

There are bugs in the ual.com site that sometimes will not show E+ and exits even when you are qualified. The method that seems to work for me is the go to the ual.com home page, select "More options" in the "Fare Finder" box and do your purchase that way. Do not ever use the use the "Shop for flights" if you want things to work well.

thanks folks. I think that makes sense. The reason why i'm not logged in is because i'm a *Gold, but not with MP...
I'm assuming that I can just call up UA and get an E+ seat assigned when I book the flight? |
