Code Shared Segment being upgraded triggering "Schedule Change"
I'm curious how many others out there, booked through United.com for the cheaper ticket, doing a route such as IAH-ORD, ORD-PIT, with the first segment on CO, second on UA, when they were Elite status with CO, but nothing with United?
I booked this route for my trip tomorrow, so that on the longer portion of the flight could sit in first (Platinum elite, tons of seats open so was guaranteed the upgrade and did indeed get it) and only be stuck in the back for the short hop to PIT from ORD. I found out that when the EUA runs and gives me the upgraded seat in First, that it causes the United system to think the flight was cancelled due to the Y seat being given back... and started this whole mess... 8 calls later, I'm still dealing with this mess. Yesterday it was supposedly resolved but then today I go to checkin for my flight tomorrow and not able to check in due to issues with the ticket... CO is telling me that I have 2 seats booked now in first, with various fare classes, only one is correct, but that one is not the active seat... United is clueless... on hold with their support desk now, trying to get this issue resolved... looking back the money I saved by booking the connection flight through UA instead of the direct on CO, is not worth it anymore! I really hope once this merger completes, that the UA desk is all let go, and the wonderful CO agents replace them... they have a clue and are American based, not off-shored Manilla agents or elsewhere! |
