Do YOU call CS when your Itinerary changes?
 

I just noticed online that there is a small change to my itinerary for a trip in Jan. It is only a time change of about 5 minutes. It says "To confirm, please call 1-800....".

Is it necessary that I call? This is the second change in the last 2 months. This is an award ticket.

Can't speak for others but I normally call. It only takes a minute (unless it's a bigger change than 5 minutes).

I had many 5 min changes. I don't bother calling them for this kind of a small stuff. On the other hand, I called them for a flight change. UAXXX was doing PHL-ORD-SEA with a single flight number and same equipment but they changed it to UAXXX departing Philly the same time and UAYYY with the identical departure time from ORD.

I just wanted to confirm that I was able to keep the good seats.

I normally only call if they screw up my seat assignments (which seems to happen about 40% of the time). Otherwise, there's really no point...

One of my itins yesterday was showing "Please call regarding a schedule change", but the flight times showed the same. So I made a quick call into UA, who told me that the "schedule change" was really my upgrade clearing the waitlist for LAX-SYD. I had a schedule change on the return. I called and was told that the original flight from IAD to BTV has been cancelled and the next one would be 4 hours later. I asked the CSR what could be done about it and she putted the 4 of us direct between ORD-BTV. So, we'll arrive 6 hours ahead of the revised schedule!
