Special Class

I checked my itin lax-ord to see about my upgrades I have been waiting to confirm. The outbound still says upgrade pending and my original coach seat. However the inbound lax-ord still says upgrade pending and my coach seat still assigned but class has now switched to "special class" what does that mean? I did recently get a refund as the fare dropped 85 bucks.

'nother question, is 1k worth 600 bucks? That seems to be the price for a ord-EUROPE ticket with one random connection in EUROPE Nov 22,23,24. THX

I had some flights show up in "Special Class"...and they were booked in "S" class... which is El Cheapo. Perhaps that's why.

As for $600 for 1K...definitely! You *should* receive 6 systemwide upgrades (unless they change the rules for 2004) along with higher waitlist priority, etc.

I'd do it.

I will go for 1K. It's worth it. But unfortunately for the first time after about 10 years, I will not be 1K in year 2004. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Why dont you try flying the first week of Dec. Flights`to LHR are pricing out at $300

I get "Special Class" designations all the time and have been for years. I have 3 trips booked with that designation right now. Don't worry about it.

Generally anything lower than V ends up as "special class". It started appearing when the W bucket started. They just never loaded info so that W,T,S, etc. reads as coach. When it can't figure it out, it just says "special class." I wouldn't be suprised if "Z" reads the same way.

I just booked a ticket from ORD-LAX-ORD and on the return trip, I was able to book 24A on a 767-300ER and according to seatguru, that is a E+ seat even though I have no status?

Although I will after my trips this year (PremEx)

Ill already be in Germany that first weekend of December. Nov 22-23-24 is all I have to make this work. THX for looking out though.

My recollection of "special class" merely means that you are in Economy Plus. Anybody else know if I'm right?

Yes, this was my impression.

I booked one r/t SFO-PVG in August from a travel agent at very low fare($620 all inclusive), assigned as "special class" but really got the same miles as a normal "v" class. On the return trip I even changed return date without extra charge(normally $150)
