as the lounge at DEL is not a StarGold and not an RCC, but only a contracted lounge, the rules to bring in a partner doesn't apply (if you fly in eco).

So how do I get my spouse into the DEL lounge since she is not a *G member???? Simply ask the LH agent at check-in or....??

Yes, with a contract lounge you sometimes get a voucher (e.g. at CAI) that you hand over. At CAI you probably would not get a voucher even if you are *G.

I am a 1K and was turned away from the RCC last August when traveling on an LH ticket. I think only non-UA Star Golds can use the lounge under these circumstances. If you're flying on a UA ticket, however, being a 1P is enough to get you into the lounge.

If I am wrong about this, bring something in writing from the website to show to the person at the RCC entrance. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Any idea whether this lounge could be used by someone arriving from FRA (via LH) so that someone could wait a few hours there for someone else coming in on a different flight/airline?

Is the lounge before security?

What are the hours of operation?

Or, any suggestions for a nearby hotel for one to wait a few hours?

TIA...

OttoGraham, I take it you were allowed into the LH or equivalent lounge?

Since you are flying LH, I would defiantely recommend the LH business lounges over the RCC in FRA.

To get to the RCC in FRA from the LH gates, it is quite a walk and you have to go through a couple extra rounds of security screening. Not worth it at all.

The drinks/snacks/entertainment are all superior at the LH business lounge. The senator lounges can be a bit more crowded, but have better beer.
