Every time
I flew PDX-ORD-SYR-IAD-DEN-PDX this week and every time I checked it was there. However I was sitting next to an FA who had just flown back from Kuwait and she was surprised to hear that any pilots had it on these days.

1/15 UA 841 LAX-SFO (757) Shame, as we ended up having to reject our landing and do a go-around. We were pretty close; around the bridge, I think.

I have had too many flights recently to list them by numbers, but unfortunately the majority now have been without Ch9 availability,
"not on" 3 out of 4 times. Many times I have requested the cabin crew to put in a word with the cockpit, but equally many times the response is that "this captain does not like Ch9" . This even on TPACs ( immediately turned off after NRT dep and never came back on, and Hawaii flights, where one response was that it "is too boring". My goodness, what are they afraid of??? Don't they realize that this a marketing tool ( at least to some fliers - and every flier counts or not? ).
