Changing your mailing address
I recently moved and found out that the follow have to be done to change your mailing address at UAL.
1. Update you profile on ual.com https://www.ua2go.com/ci/UpdateProfilePersonal.jsp 2. Call Mileage Plus 3. Call UAL reservation and have them update every open PNR I originally thought that #1 should take care of everthing, found out otherwise. Also note that the lists for promotions were sent to UA's vendors months ago. For 2-3 months partner mailings and such will go the old address.

i knew i wasn't the only person who got screwed on this...i moved last summer, changed my profile on MY mileage plus account and yet, miraculously, anything to be mailed to me never arrived...upon phoning UA, they said, that although my profile address is changed, it doesn't change my Mileage Plus account address. I started to ask why and then realized this was soooooooo stupid that I must be missing something and hence bit my tongue. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I noticed on united.com that there's a place to change your MP contact info ("change address" in "Customer Service" section of Mileage Plus" tab) as well as a place to change your united.com contact info ("Update profile" from "planning travel" tab). If you use both of those, do you still need to call MP?

Hmm... strange. I updated my address using the Update Profile feature on ual.com. After reading this thread a few days later, I called the MP Service Center to verify that my address had been updated. Indeed it had. The rep informed me that nothing else needed to be done!

I just recently went through this and found that it was necessary to use both links to get everything properly changed:
From this page, you need to click on Update Profile, and change your info there, and then return to this page and click on "Change Address" under Customer Service. At that point, you should not need to call Mileage Plus, unless there is some reason that it was important to update your existing itineraries (does it make any difference?). |
