China Flights are now 747s?

I noticed that PEK<->SFO and PVG<->SFO flights are now 747s. Is this a perm change or just temporary?

I think it is just for the summer season. Last year it was ORD-PVG 747, it just all depends

777 was used for SFO/PEK route in the past winter. This should be a seasonal matter.

Well, that means it will be even harder to get those new C upgrades in advance to PEK and PVG! BTW, I hope the prices for these routes will go down a bit for this summer.

Better chances to upgrade with SWU?

SFO to PVG or SFO to PEK? Anybody know which is a lighter route?

I thought they usually ran the 747s from SFO. I know last winter they switched to 777s, but that was primarily due to the 747s being reconfigured for the lay flat seating and being flown out of ORD. I'm glad to see they're back on the pacific routes.

Sure wish they would hurry up and re-configure all of them. Sucks having to hope all the time.

All of the 747s remaining in the fleet have been reconfigured with the new C and F. That's been the case for several months now.

Unfortunately that is not the case.

HKG Yes, but not PRC.

Since the summer of 2009, all China flights had been on 777 until the recent double switch of SFO-PEK and SFO-PVG to 744.

I had been seriously considering switching to fly CO or OZ (via ICN) until I saw both SFO flights changed to 744.

Not sure about SFO-PVG, but SFO-PEK will revert back to 777 in the fall.
