Elite with DL or UA? Any opinions?

I'm based out of LAX. I prefer DL's service to JFK, my primary destination, but UA and *A partners have more international routes out of LAX. So it's more or less a wash to me which airline I want to go with as my primary choice. I'm currently Silver on DL and Premier on UA, but I want to drop one airline and focus exclusively on the other to build up better elite perks.

So...anyone have strong opinions on whether I should hitch my wagon to DL or UA? Thanks.

Where do you fly internationally, and do you stick with Y or do you buy C? I'm thinking that if you're primarily in Y, UA's E+ might make long trips more tolerable than DL's offerings. And even if you don't need E+, with *A you can fly AC which, I am told, has a very nice Y product for international.

Me, I've never been much of a fan of NW in the past, but haven't actually flown DL. Could be things are better, but with NW, seating was cramped and, for domestic, there was rarely IFE. That was then, things could be different now.

how's your success frequency of upgrade when taking DL domestically? If it works well as silver, then it might worth more consideration, because domestic F is definitely better than E+. For a certain destinations, upgrades for DL silver are more frequent than UA 2P.

This was cross-posted in the Delta Forum; as this is not allowed, I'll close this thread.
