Yipee!!
I've been a premier and premier exec for many years with UA, but last year was the first year I made 1K. Got the SWU's, used them and loved them.
Just got the Sweet Spot SWU's. Plan on using them and loving them. Yesterday in the mail, I got a fabulous surprise. I have already requalified for 1K this year (130k flight miles) and they sent me ANOTHER 2003 1K card and Kit with 6 more SWUs in them! The expiration date on the 1K card is the same as the one I already got back in Feb of this year. Is this the way it usually works, or a mistake? Either way, YIPEE!!!!!!!!!! |

Nice to see good news! Maybe you'll even get another set of luggage tags... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |
Congratulations!
However, it seems strange that you got another membership kit with an extra six systemwides! I also requalified for 1K back in May, but have received absolutely nothing! ------------------ When once you have experienced being a 1K, you will forever fly the friendly skies with your eyes set on 100% mileage bonus and SWUs, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return, every year! |
What is the expiration date on these six new SWU's you just received?
What are the terms, specifically upgradeable fares on these six new SWU's? Your experience, receiving some sort of mid-year requalification package, is unique as far as I can remember. |
Did you qualify for 1K by flying 100K miles last year, or was the status earned via the extension?
I know with the extension you receive 6 SWUs and a welcome kit mid-year. BTW, do fill us in on the terms of the SWUs you received! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Upgradeable fares are Business (C,D), Economy (Y,B,M,H, Q,V,W,S,L,T,K) in Region 1, Y,B,M,H in Region 2. Valid through 8/31/04!
I qualified both times the hard way, last year flew 150k, this year so far flew 130k. I have no idea why I got this packet, but I am NOT complaining. This makes up for the fact that on my last two business class flights the recline has been broken on the seat so it would not stay upright........ http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
Hmmm, still the H fare limitation. This might not be such good news? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
But congrats on the extra goodies. [This message has been edited by transpac (edited 07-13-2003).] |

Luckily a lady who wanted to sleep anyways offered to switch with me... Sorry to be off topic...Congrats on your good fortune! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ------------------ "I just wanna wish you good luck, we're all counting on you" -Dr. Rumack |
Sounds like a glitch to me. The clue? Another card and credentials kit. If this was programed, I doubt they'd do that and just send out more certs with a letter.
I hope it's not a glitch though, as I flew 220k+ last year and am at 125k YTD already. Even with the H or higher internationally, they are still valid on anything in North America and Hawaii. So I'd look at it as Six more HK50s at the very least. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Regardless, a visit to the P.O. Box on Monday seems to be in order. I'd put your money on it just being full of bills, however. |
Update: Visit to my Post Office Box yielded no similar glitch goodies. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
