Star Alliance Survey
I recently received a postcard from the Star Alliance (presumably because of my UA status) that offered 1,000 bonus miles and double miles on flights between March something and I think it was May. There were a lot of questions about how much you travel and what status you hold but there were three very interesting questions. One was; Would you pay $400 per year for worldwide lounge access, would you pay $25 per visit; and there was a third regarding status comps (sorry, I don't remember it).

My wife's and mine's haven't posted yet either. Survey was done in January and miles were suppose to be posted "within approximately 8 weeks".

Here is the reply I got from UA:
(And I sure hope they get first international segment right and credit my ORD-CPH instead of my first UA international: ORD-YYZ!)
Thanks for being a loyal Premier member.
The bonus miles earned for completing the Star Silver Survey have not
yet begun crediting to Mileage Plus accounts. This promotion earned
1,000 bonus miles for filling out the survey, and then double miles on
the first segment of an international trip in F, C, Y, B, M, or H fare
class between February 1st - April 30th, 2003.
The first posting date has not yet been announced, although promotions
generally credit towards the end of the promotion (April 30th, 2003).
We appreciate your patience and thank you for your loyalty to United
Airlines.

So, it's just the first segment? I thought I was getting double miles for the entire trip!

I have a strong feeling if you took a multi-segment flight with the same flight number, and the agent didn't separate the segments at booking, that UA's "sweep" will double the first itemized international flight as it appears on your Mileage Plus statement. So for UA 805 (which flies LAX-SFO-HKG-SIN) you might get the "LAX-SIN" airport to airport mileage if that's how it shows up on your Mileage Plus statement.
Qualifying H and higher fares only for this promotion.
Just my hunch. I could be wrong.

I still haven't received my 1K miles for the survey. I didn't end up flying on one of the qualifying fares. Another promotion I can't use due to my cheapness and UA only willing to give perks to higher fares. I am questioning my UA loyalty.

Received the 1,000 survey miles but not the bonus miles from a SFO-NRT trip in March.

Yes, mine posted on June 4. I got the 100% bonus for flight in early March ages ago. No idea when it posted since it only shows up as double the normal bonus miles.
Interesting to note that it posted as "Star Silver Survey".
