"Book and Hold" Function Added to My ual.com without Request
I noticed starting yesterday the "Book and Hold" feature the other 1Ks mentioned before was just added to my ual.com reservation process. This function was not there the day before. However, I never request to get this. Any other fellow UA FTers got this recently?

Yep same here! Nice function!
Now no need to call UA to book flights and ticket at the airport to use discount vouchers!
Thanks for the heads up!

Why they do not make this available to a wider audience is baffling.

nerd...from the above posts, it may indeed be available to a wider audience now.
If you have never had it in the past, suggest you log on and create a domestic booking to see if the button now appears to you. Remember though that it can't be any type of "internet only" fare, or the button will not show.

I believe this is a targeted function because I booked exactly the same T fare reservation for my wife, 1P level, under her account, there was no "BOOK AND HOLD" icon available right beside the "CONTINUE" icon after you choose your seat assignment.

That S fare could be a web only S fare. Just try booking a full fare Economy ticket (select from the pull down menu...though I've never used that option
). That should do it.
Yes, the button will appear at the bottom where you hit your first purchase option of "Continue":

Also, make sure you have logged on with your Mileage Plus number first.

I have been able to use this function for some time now--at least six months.
The only bad thing...if you let the computer cancel the reservation, it stays on your "United Itineraries" and can make things appear a bit messy.
But overall, a good feature indeed.
