Didn't EZUpdate Used to Update on Gate Changes?
I make a rookie mistake Friday evening that almost made me miss my flight at ORD.
I did not re-check the FIDS for the departure gate. I trusted the last (and only) page I got from EZUpdate. I thought my flight was going out of C-twenty something at ORD but it was B-18 - I arrived on an RJ in T2. Due to a tarmac delay, I had 32 minutes. I thought it used to update you on gate changes but has not done it the last month at least? Has anyone observed this? Thanks. |
I bet they decided gates changed too many times for them to constantly send updates with gate info. Although they do have a high number of messages, it still costs them money based on message bands, and as EZUpdate has grown, they have had to make cutbacks on what they send messages for.
Also, some people probably got annoyed by the gate change messages sent to email. |
I'm setup to received 3 hour before flight time EasyUpdate messages, for SFO the gate info is rarely correct -- definitely below 20% of the time. It has been better ont the ontime status, so I keep using it and check for the gate once I arrive at the airport. as all the messages say "Please check the flight information monitors at the airport. "
