GoGo Internet on p.s. Flights (Prices, Codes, Experiences, etc.)

I'm writing this from UA 14 SFO-JFK, and I just noticed that the GoGo WiFi is now $14.95. I could swear it was $12.95 when I flew last month. $15 is pretty steep...

EDIT: Here is my blog post about it...

Did you try using a free GoGo code (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...flights.html)? Says it's only good to a $12.95 value, so I'm wondering if they still work.

I noticed this earlier JFK-LAX as well. I had a code for a free session, though, which seems to have worked.

I'm using Gogo now using the free code on UA 28 (LAX-JFK), and the cost advertised was $12.95 (so for me, it was free after coupon).

Strange...

Possibly testing price sensitivities?

ah good point. I wonder if UA is trying to see if they can squeeze a few extra bucks out of folks

Do they still have a cheaper plan if you're using a phone?

How are they determining it? User-agent? If so, install a user-agent plug-in .

I figured it was MAC address (based off the OUI registry), but it could be as simple as looking at the user agent.

I will try it on my next flight...

I would guess MAC as well but either one is simple to fake
