Meal Service on Maui - LAX First Class?

I'm in first class on UA flight 46 departing Maui at 8:32 PM and arriving into LAX at 4:45 AM. I was told there were boxed snacks available on this flight. Is there no dinner service? I've flown from Honolulu to LAX in the past and they used to have food on the red-eyes.

snacks only - cheese and some fruit. the way I've gotten around it is to make a special meal request about a week ahead of time.

Actually, Hawaii red eyes get 2 choices: usually the cold chicken katsu plate or the fruit and cheese.

Blissworld is correct. The chicken katsu, while nothing substantial usually comes with a side of some type as well as a delicious brownie for dessert. Both choices are cold.

I agree. Tried it once, now I order a special meal or take the fruit and cheese plate.

UA also serves the katsu as the pre-arrival snack HNL-NRT (that or a fruit plate).

I had it last summer and it was definitely served hot, not cold.

As usual, YMMV on this one. Last week the only choice for me was the fruit and cheese plate. Guess LAX catering didn't board the Chicken Katsu for the return.

And remember, there's no Maui catering arrangement, so whatever is served to you will have started out at least seven hours earlier in LAX (or SFO.) Yummy.

Last night on the HNL-LAX the option was the usual fruit and cheese plate, or a deli plate. I chose the deli this time, but better to eat prior to getting on the plane...
