elite extensions--when does this kick in?

Last year as a PremEx I flew 20,400 miles. I paid the $25 for the elite extension and flew 29,700 miles from 1/1-3/31, with the last flight on 3/31. So for the two periods I cleared the 50K mark.

The UAL website lists me as a Premier--any idea when this will update? Has anyone else had this problem? I have confirmed with UAL that they did receive my elite extension signup.

Thanks.

I made it to 1K on the extension and my status lists on the website as 1K as of this week.

I made 1K extension...it took about a week after having flown 50,001 miles this calendar year for my account to reflect the status.

Don't hold me to this, but I understand that the magical day is Friday-- that's when the MP computers do a "sweep" and complete their weekly updates. At least that's what a PremEx Desk agent told me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I herd the same thing about Friday (actually heard it in another thread here) . It was about a week after we flew the qualifying miles for our status to change.

My last flight, to get me over 50,000 miles, was on 3/31. My status changed from Premier Executive to Premier before those miles posted. Now they have posted, but my status still shows as Premier.

Seems like a call to Customer Service is warranted.

My flight to take me over 50k miles (and back into PremEx) was JFK-NRT, which left on 31st March, and, of course, arrived on 1st April. The miles for this flight showed as posted on the 31st, but my status was showing as Premier, and not PremEx. I e-mailed the SIN United team, and this was their response:

"The Elite Extension Promotion actually requires the flights to be completed by
31 March 2003, only these miles will count towards the Premier Status for 2003.
Our records shows that you complete the trip on 1 April 2003 which does not
count towards your Premier Status for 2003. We understand you are our Loyal
Mileage Plus member and we have decided to make a one-time exception to retain
your Premier Executive Status for 2003. This status will be effective until end
of February 2004. We hope you will travel with us often and experience the
exceptional service and style reserved for our Premier members around the
world."

So...I'm very happy with the outcome, BUT do we have to be very careful with a flight that leaves on the 31st March, but arrives on the 1st April, in future years?

I was PE last year and had about 28K miles. I paid the $25 for the extension, my status never changed from PE and I re-qualified sometime in late March for PE again.

I did receive the Premier level kit, but the website always reflected the PE status. I'm sure I'll get the PE kit sometime soon.

I'd be very, very pleased if there's a United around in "future years".

Assuming the extension offer was a unique event, in the future (including this year) we would have to be careful with flights that leave on Dec 31 and arrive on Jan 1. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Which is why I made sure my flight DEN-MCI on 12/31 kicked me over 50K, cause I knew my MCI-DEN flight on 01/01 would post as 2003's numbers (which means I never carried a "0" premiere qualifying miles balance). *grin*

I made it back to PremEx on March 7, and this was reflected on the computer within a week. I still haven't got my pack though.

The date of your flight is according to the departure date, not arrival date. SIN UA was wrong - you did do the required 50K on/before March 31.

I achieved 1K "lite", and my status showed up the following week.

I called CS, and they said that all the extended qualification credentials have already gone out. "your card is in the mail"

lucifer666 Apr 10, 2003 1:35 pm

same issue with me. qualified for PremEx "lite" on Mar 31, but the miles posted on Apr 1. Currently, my status shows as Premier. Called MP and they said the sweep would occur on Fri. If not, then a cal would be in order.
