Travel to Caracas

This should be easy, but I cannot seem to find the information through a search. How do I earn MP points flying from IAD to Caracas? I do not mind if it is not direct. TIA

Or, if you really want extra miles, TP through FNC/LIS or LH through FRA.

They don't sell it as a regular round trip, but you can book it as a multi-segment trip. Of course, you do end up spending ~18 hours in the air each way.

You could end up buying anything as a multi-segment trip, but it kinda defeats the purpose! I can fly JFK-EWR via FRA, but that doesn't really "count".

Strange pricing by the way. $450 via Air Canada round trip from Toronto to Caracas. $540 via United from Washington DC to Toronto round trip.

I think any time you're crossing an extra ocean, as stevenshev suggested, it doesn't really matter what "counts" -- you're either completely nuts or really into earning miles on a particular airline (on second thought, is there a difference? ).

TACA flies there via SJO. UA doesn't code share on all their flights but MP lists them as full miles accruing partner.

No WAS-SJO service on TACA though, so this would involve two connections. And no EQMs.

Does United (or a Partner) Fly to Caracas

I was wondering if United, or a Star Alliance partner flys into Caracas, Venezuela?

I've got a trip in March I'm starting to plan, and would like to use my MP miles if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated!

No service on UA at this time.

CO has one daily flight out of IAH and is in the process of moving to Star Alliance from SkyTeam.

Air Canada does from Toronto.

Lufthansa and TAP also fly to Caracas, but they would not be of much help to someone originating in the States.

TACA airline, while not a *A partner, but a UA partnet flies to Caracas. Coach award coach from the US is 70K MP miles - not a good deal.
