Help refresh my memory as to the 2010 program
 

As I recall reading about the unlimited domestic upgrades and I recall the debate over CR-1's, I also recall that at that time United said to stand by for "new benefit" for elites. Well, it is 2010 and I don't see any new benefit-neither the UDU or CR-1 was that alleged upgrade. I am sure they weren't referring to either of those. Is there still going to be a "new" benefit? Anyone have any idea what they may have been referring to?

It's come up in a few other threads, so expect a merge. I think UA's latest on UDU (and any other attendant changes) is that it will be coming in 2Q 2010...

The reference to the "new benefit" was made after the UDU announcement to assuage us. Now maybe the reinstatement of the CR-1's was in their eyes sufficient, but I got the impression that there should be more. Several of the letters from CS suggested that.

Maybe one-way awards? Or upgrading with miles on other *A airlines?

The one I want it to be able to earn stickers to board on the red carpet as a 1P. So simple, but so useful on crowded overhead bins on winter flights. It won't ever happen though.

MMers get two (2) CR-1’s each year on 1 January. When UA/MP considered eliminating CR-1’s they mentioned that they would consider a new benefit to replace the CR-1’s given to MMers, Now that CR-1’s have been reinstated I assume they will remain an annual gift to MMers (two were deposited on 1/1/2010) and hence no new benefit.

Not sure if this is what you are referring to? The ability to earn CR-1’s remains a benefit for 1K’s and LDU's are presumably still rolling out in Q2/2010.
