I guess I'm not that shocked. If most Health Dept's had unlimited budgets, you would see many restaurants fail the inspection. You either eat home grown foods or understand that what you consume outside of the home may not meet the highest standards.
So those on a protein diet while in F should be happy about this report.

Guess it's time to bring out the ol' roach clips for meals out of DEN.

Provisional? More like Fail. I am sure we don't want to know what happens where a lot of prepared food is prepared....

I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up as a bigger story in the local media. I guess since so few airlines serve meals these days, the "investigative reporters" must not think it will have much interest to the majority of travelers.

True, but you can still purchase fresh items in Economy. I bet on flights out of DEN those salads and wraps and stuff were all made in this facility. That affects a lot more people than just F class. Doesn't explain why the local media haven't picked up on it though.

I guess you have to define 'fail' and 'many'. Many restaurants get 'ticks' on the inspection, but they are usually minor items pointed out by the inspectors...which is a good function of the process.
We would immediately starve if we fully relied on home-grown food. The vast majority of the U.S. population does not have access to sufficient land-area let alone cultivation and food preservation skills to grow enough food to sustain themselves let alone multiple people.

Actually, the wire services got it last night and it was on page 2 of my very small town paper this morning -- it will be widely reported today, I'm guessing, and might even have a shot at the nightly national TV news if it's a slow day. Lucky for UA that LSG also cater AA and DL, or it could really be a PR disaster.

Reminds me of a flight out of PHL to LAX a couple of years ago. No food at all in first class due to "mechanical problems in the kitchen". Of course later on I quietly asked the very nice flight attendant what the real reason was. And it was because of a toilet back up in the catering department. Not sure what exactly that meant and certainly didn't want to ask.
By the way, long before we were scheduled to depart, the captain of that flight actually left the plane and bought sandwiches in the airport for all of us in first class (8 seats). Very classy move.

flew ex-den yesterday in f (not naming the flight as the f/a involved may join f/t and post as well ).
seat mate: chose the turkey sandwich
me: I swapped to the shrimp salad at the last minute
mid-meal my seat mate calls the purser over to tell her that there were pieces of plastic in her sandwich and sure enough there were bit's and pieces of hard white plastic "being used like mayonnaise" in her sandwich .
