Virgin Blue Codeshare
I've just noted the spiel in the UA Australian website re the BNE-SYD codeshare arrangements.
It seems that you get a Virgin boarding pass from BNE-SYD,collect luggage at the SYD domestic terminal and lug it by a "bus "(?? interterminal city bus ) to the international terminal and then check in .
I know the QF connection is hassle enough for Brisbanites but at least the bags are tagged all the way to the USA and the shuttle transfer is good .
Has anybody used these Virgin Blue Codeshare arrangements .Maybe its not as bad as I am imagining.

Haven't used it and won't use it - if they'll let me not use it.
Do they at least provide the bus? That's would be a step in the right direction.
Virgin Blue can't check the luggage through as they don't use a compatible system for baggage checking.
I'll stick with the convenience of QF and my 1000 QFF miles.
