A slightly amusing (but mostly dumb) ual.com bug
I have never received any gratitude, nor even comprehension, from ual for pointing out bugs on their website, so I think I'll post this one here:
Get "airport info" for YVR (click on YVR in your mileage log), and the listed address of the airport will be your address (if you're logged in, at least). Fun to show off to friends! I guess someone used the wrong "address" field. No idea what other airports this happens for. |

As a 1K, I deserve to have the airport brought to me. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Hoping the ILS doesn't have a similar bug...

When I am in my mileage summary (is that what you meant, Pynch?) and click on SFO I get this description.
"13 M South Of Sfo On Bayshore Frwy." Which would put it in about Redwood City, no? |
Sounds like the package that was just delivered to me by UPS.
On the tracking page it said that it was sent on Jan, 31, 1969!!! |
For those who use the windows version of UAL electronic timetable - it seems like every update of the schedule adds a new E11924.exe and E11924.htm (numbers purely for illustrative purposes only) file to the UAL E-timetable folder. When is it safe to delete these files? It seems highly efficient to leave these crumbs on your hard drive, especially when the .exe file is over 2.5 MB's.

Seems like this bug exists for all Canadian cities. I had no idea my house was so close to Toronto.

I spotted this a while back and thought it was just a bug on my account. It works for EDI.
I mentioned it once during a phonecall to Mileage Plus. The girl on the phone paused for a minute, then said: "Is your apartment on the top floor? Maybe it's something to do with that." Well, at least she was trying. pynchonesque, The Master and Margarita never did for me; I prefer Pushkin. Alastair |

I can't believe you guys not enjoying the
Bulgakov. To me it's the greatest work by one of the 20th c's most interesting writers. And airplanes and other methods of air transport figure prominently in one of the story lines. And the other story line involves a very sympathetic treatment of a character named something like Pilot. So what could be bad? |
You refer to Bulgakov as "it" -- as if our friend Mikhail had only written Master/Margarita. Are you perhaps forgetting his less famous novel, the one with Polygraph Polygraphovich, the man-dog who smokes cheap cigars, catches cats, and spouts profanities?
Violist, sadly, not all are meant to appreciate the finer things! I say, let the Bulgakov-haters wallow in their Lolita, or whatever other Russian trash it is that they're reading. What a night. First I flame Nate, and now I flame Nabokov! "I am a sick man. I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man. I believe my liver is diseased..." Who, me? I was merely metonymizing or two for oneing or one for twoing or something. What a night. First I flame Nate, and now I flame Nabokov! "I am a sick man. I am a spiteful man. I am an unattractive man. I believe my liver is diseased..." You a fleet man? or are you a neat elf? I am hoping that this is my 1011th post. I really liked that aircraft. Edited for UBB code and also to note that it was in fact my 1011th post, only with the rolling post count display, I'll be up to 1013 or 1014 by day's end, which chills my ardor for such games.
