ORD-AMS July 19

Told my FA in business first (one of those great fares from March) that I would be crossing my millionth mile on United about 2800 miles into the flight. She got someone on the flight deck to calculate what time that would happen. At that time, I was presented with a bottle of champagne to take with me, and a congratulations card signed (and a little note) from every member of the crew. Upon arrival - they announced it to the whole plane!

I passed 1MM on Monday, on a flight from SFO to OGG. Doing it on a vacation flight to Hawaii was pretty cool...especially since my first flight on which I earned frequent flier miles was a UA flight to Hawaii in 1989.

I didn't mention the MM milestone to the crew. But it was a fantastic crew which made for a great flight. I passed it 545 miles into the flight, so at least I did it with a Mai Tai in hand!

Just passed 1MM this morning on UA 1612 ORD to DEN. No recognition but thankfully my upgrade cleared!

Took me about 15.5 years. I am young enough to contemplate at least another million...

UA Million Milers - Roll Call Thread

Passing 1MM tonight on the EWR-TPA flight. I find that pretty special since I'm born in NJ but live in Tampa.

If you are 1K, your wife will also be 1K.

Yep, agree! My wife who flies may be 10k miles per year has been a 1K due to my MM status. I'm closing in on 2MM, maybe 2015?

Status of spouse (or designee) takes the status of the MM flyer

My wife also became a 1K when I hit 1MM despite her <10K UA BIS last year. She even got a nice kit with drink chits, luggage tags, etc. No RPU or GPU though but the 1K bump is a really nice perk. She can book awards close in and cancel same with no fees, do the Plan B boogie, and she gets up there in the CPU line just like me (although I'm 0 for 6 this month in CPUs! )

Made 1MM yesterday, 90% leisure travel with many mileage runs to maintain status along the way. Despite recent changes I am not thrilled to see, United has treated me well for many years and enabled me to comfortably and safely see many parts of the world.

Glad to have reached the 1MM threshold before the next set of big changes. Will surely continue to fly United whenever practical, although it is getting tougher from Seattle!

Just crossed 3MM on DEL-EWR. Great flight and great crew. Captain announced my accomplishment over the PA before we took off. I was acknowledged by most of the crew throughout the flight. The most common comment was "good luck on the next 3MM". I'm just hoping that I can sneak in another 1MM.

Looking back, I made the last million miles in 22 1/2 months.
