Does "Lifetime United flight miles" on online statement over 1,000,000 means you are an UA Million Milers?

Yes - you will notice that number does not increment when you fly a code share or partner airline.

I will be passing 1MM sometime this year [around 73K left to 1MM]. Mostly Domestic routes flown for last 10 years. Well, I have to thank Northworst airline for their poor services throughout all cabin of service (First, Business, and Economy) and their flight attendant's strike to get me try out United. Never went back to Northworst.

BTW, given United has been publicizing 1MM, 2MM, 3MM+ this year more than previous years, are they planning to acknowledge UA flyers in the flight when they pass the MM mark ?

IME, they'd have no way to do so unless they were told by the flyer upfront that it was the flight that was going to put them over.

I hit my MM somewhere over Bozeman, MT on a flight back from NRT to ORD, and had a chance to stop in the cockpit prior to takeoff from NRT. I mentioned to the Crew that I was about X miles short of MM, and prior to landing the Captain came out to my seat (15A) and gave me a copy of the inflight computer print out with the approximate time we hit Bozeman hand written.

I suspect if you have a chat with the Crew prior to takeoff, you might get something for your effort.

Best, Dave

I received similar treatment last year, plus a bottle of wine from the Purser!

Just passed 1M miles last week.

When should I expect to see my status update and the 3 extra SWUs?

IF you're lucky (and I wasn't), your status will WAIT to update until February - since that will give you an extra month of validity for your SWU's. My best guess, based on my experience is that you'll see the update and the SWU's prior to the end of the month.

Good for you on the MM!
Best, Dave
