Hi Pat89339, that was actually me.

See your PM

Pat--

You are definitely "da bomb"! Thanks again for all your efforts and leadership.

Plus, it sure was great to have someone to commiserate with last night as we waited to see if we were going to get back to SFO.

P.S. I was happy to see in the picture that my Wright Bros necktie (to commemorate Capt. Denny's final flight with an image of the "first flight") made at least a very small cameo to the left of Oscar's head.

FlyerTalkers in SEA UC

These panos from a decrepit iPhone 4S (further confounded by the nasty backlighting) leave much to be desired, but decided to post 'em anyway.

Kudos to all who made this event happen.. and especially Capt. Flanagan!
I was hoping to try and get my 1MM in on his last flight as my first year achieving 1K (1999) I met Capt. Flanagan and received his biz card and the autographed book :-: .. but my plans went sideways and had to be in PIT

One more thing, Oscar announced to us on board that the big deal in NYC tomorrow is about the new business class seats. Hopes dashed early we smiled and nodded.

Thanks for the compliment! It was great to have company for the rolling delays and rolling gate assignments. Glad you made it home safely. I have another cameo of you to the left of Denny's head that I will post shortly. Here it is.

Pat, et. al.

It was good to see everyone again as it's been a few years since I've posted here or gone to an event. It was also good to see Denny off last night at Shoeless Joe's and make new connections, especially Captain Dave and UPS Captain Bud.

While I didn't get a chance to fly with y'all from Seattle to Chicago, my aircraft back to Orlando is ... the last airplane that Denny flew for UA.

Catch y'all at the next event.

What an amazing honor it was to fly onboard Capt. Denny's last flight with so many of you! I will forever remember this experience, alongside Denny's remarkable legacy of service.

Many thanks to Pat for all of your efforts throughout the years keeping track of Captain Denny for all of us!

Others have posted much better photos, but here are a few of my favorites from yesterday's flight.

final pre-flight gate announcement ("the plane is in good shape, and I'm in good shape"):

water cannon salute and final 100 feet of taxi culminating in perfect career aviation safety record

exiting the cockpit, complete with a pat on the back from Oscar:

Actually he described it as a "totally new premium product experience", not just new seats. We shall see.

Thanks all for the reporting. What a wonderful carrier for Captain Denny, whom I had the pleasure to meet once on a FT dinner. Wishing Captain Denny and his family all the best!

Respect and kudos to Mr. Oscar Munoz for making the effort and taking the time to personally greet him upon arrival of his last flight. ^

He also kept saying "this is the new face of United" while gesturing to Capt Denny. All I could think was how can that be since Denny is retiring.

Wouldn't that be wonderful if Denny's next career was with UA? Many of us said over the two days the smartest thing UA could do is find a way to keep him with them.

Oscar *also* mentioned that he hoped to see Capt. Denny staying involved with United in some capacity.

This new CEO is a change I actually like. So far. We shall see.

Oscar was standing right next to me when he said that. The fact that he actually realizes the importance of keeping Capt Denny involved with United and stated it openly to a group of flyers who are sure to post it online is truly a change in the right direction.
