Oh boy, I see he's flying the (early) post-Mardi Gras MSY-IAH shuttles on Ash Wednesday.

Hope he knows what he's in for.

Any chance for a Feb 19 Thurs evening SFO FT meet-up in SFO?

After being rebooked on the noon UA 336 ORD-EWR, I was surprised to have the captain recognize my FlyerTalk tags, while introducing himself as Captain Flanagan. We had a nice talk, and got the FAs to place my bag in one of the closests because it wouldn't fit in the overheads. He got us out of ORD despite the winter weather, and of course kept the plane informed the whole time. After landing, I got a picture with him and he invited me into the cockpit. Thanks Denny for the great flight! ^

I had the pleasure of flying with Captain Flanagan yesterday, UA898 SFO-JFK, for my millionth mile flight. As always, he makes flying fun -- I felt like a kid with the mid-flight announcement that we had passed mile 477 marker (and thus my millionth mile!).

While I'm certain all FlyerTalkers on this thread already know, I feel like I owe it to Captain Flanagan to give another shout out for the Captain Jason Dahl Scholarship Fund.

I just wanted to say that I received a personal note and business card from first officer John Dangelo on a mainline flight from SLC-DEN. While I've decided to switch from UA to AA this year, United has some great ambassadors like Denny and John.

Captain Denny pointed out that March has him doing LHR. Pilots call it the "W" -- ORD-LHR-EWR-LHR-ORD.
I see he's doing more 67s this month. Is that because of the large # of 757s going away?

Finally!

Boarding UA692 ORD-LGA and FINALLY I get to fly with the legend! Excited!
Found out as he handed wings and aircraft cards to my kids and then made a gate announcement himself!
I'm all giddy and my wife thinks I'm crazy!

You can always visit his sky office after you land for photos.

Oh yeah! The kids and I spent a good five minutes up there while the plane was boarding. What a nice guy!

I think it would make an excellent FlyerTalk Do for us to pack the plane on his last flight.
