Capt Denny and Neil Armstrong

Capt Denny asked me to post this picture of him with Neil Armstrong, taken September 1, 2011.

Wow! ^ What a vicarious thrill for me (having met Captain Denny) and what a photo memory for him to treasure and to pass on to his descendants.

Smile Capt Flannagan on UA546 SAN-IAD 9/3/12

Just as group 1 started to board on UA546, the Captain came out to the gate area and gave briefing on the flight and the route and then personally greeted every single passenger as they boarded and gave them the 757 info card. What a classic guy!!!

It looks like his schedule was changed a bit today. You can find his scheduled flights here.

If you're around SFO next Monday we are having an FT dinner with him. The information is in my signature.

So after the flight as he was saying goodbye to pax, he remembered me from boarding time because I asked if CH9 will be on and asked me if everything worked out with CH9. I said yes it was great and enjoy your dinner in SFO on monday (as per the post above). He was so glad that I was a flyertalk member that he came out of the plane and chatted with me for 5-10 min in the jetway. He said had he known when I was boarding he would have given me a cockpit tour. Now I really wished I could have made that dinner but I will be back in East Coast again. Hopefully another time

Wow! Just wow!

Boarded my flight the other day to find the captain standing at the doorway, handing out the 'trading cards' as we boarded. Glanced over at his name on the badge, and sure enough, it was Captain Denny!

I said, "I've heard about YOU!"...He replied, "Are you a Flyertalker?" He promptly invited me into the cockpit, gave me the tour, and then some...He asked me to sit down in the captain's seat, took my picture and told some great stories. It was probably a 15-minute trip up there pre-flight, the we chatted after the flight until the F/As came off.

The copy of The Age of Flight is so cool--what a great gift!

I felt like a kid in a candy store. It was an amazing experience, and surely made my day...My week...My month!

I've never felt so appreciated before--what a wonderful ambassador for United! You can't grasp how truly great someone is by reading about them--after meeting him, you realize that all the kind words said about him here don't do him justice.

^ ^ ^

(I didn't know his flight schedule was posted on here--I'll have to check this thread more regularly!)
