Captain Denny is speaking @ the Frequent Traveler Awards. He gave a wonderful speech, and I look forward to flying with him in the future!

Of the 100 segments I've flown this year, the one with Capt. Flanagan still stands out as the most memorable. And, it was mostly by accident that it happened at all (I was moved to that flight after my earlier-scheduled SEA-SFO flight actually was delayed beyond the later one).

When I saw the captain come up the jetbridge and ask for a mic at the gate in BOS, I figured I finally caught one of the Captain Flanagans. Sure enough, I had Captain Denny fly my 757 BOS-ORD this morning. The same stories from this thread apply, although I didn't win a book or wine. The personal note on his business card is a fantastic touch!

I still haven't flown with the man but I met him at a FT dinner last week. The man is a class act all the way.

Great service
I was lucky enough to have a flight with Captain Denny a couple of weeks ago. I almost couldn't believe he was for real at first, I hadn't read this thread before.
I emailed him later that week and he took the time to pen a wonderful reply. Now when I go to the airport I am just hoping to see him again. How I wish they could bottle that attitude up and slip it to many of the other crews.
The other experience I remember that was similar was a pilot that put on his own little radio show on Channel 9!

Finally got a chance to meet Capt. Flanagan on a recent BOS-ORD flight. He was standing near the door of the aircraft handing out 757 info cards when I asked him if I was Capt Flanagan. He nodded and asked if I was an FTer
Later, after I was seated, he came by and dropped off the United "Age of Flight" book - I wasnt at all expecting it and found this gesture really touching. Had a nice chat with him once we landed at ORD, and he even invited me up to the cockpit (his "sky office") and volunteered to take a couple of pictures with me wearing his hat
A stand up guy, and a terrific ambassador for United. Inspiring to see someone that takes such pleasure and pride in their job.
