PQP as Compensation?
 

I have a colleague who is trying to negotiate compensation for an incident last year and is considering asking for PQP rather than miles or money (which United is always reluctant to give). Does anyone know if United might be willing to give PQP as compensation? Is there any history of that?

I would never say never, but chances are almost nonexistent. They will give flight vouchers that your colleague can use to travel, or miles, but PQP are very unlikely.

Agreed. Unlikely. I’m pretty sure there is a table from which they pick their response, and PQPs (or PPs) are not on there.

No way. An ETC that can be 'turned into' PQP easily

It's currently not an option and I don't think UA has any intention of going there.

As far I can remember, since the conversion of the program to PQPs / PQDs, no one has ever reported such compensation in this forum.
I think UA would resist even as an one-off as in the post-internet world, word spreads very quickly and widely.
But if successful, let's know, :D

As mentioned, since you can outright buy PQPs, other compensation could indirectly be converted to PQPs.

Not an option. Either miles or a travel credit are the choices.
