UA in flight promo code for another CHASE card
Greetings,
I was just approved for a CHASE Explorer card, 80k signup bonus w min $ spend and another 5k for using the promo code. Can I use that same promo code for a new Gateway card? Cheers. Jon |

Not sure...
UnitedExplorerCard.com/airport From that website can also apply for other CHASE/UA cards with 5k bonus for using the promo code I'm fully aware that the Gateway SUB is 30k and never expected nor claimed 80k for the Gateway card |

From that website can also apply for other CHASE/UA cards with 5k bonus for using the promo code .... 5,000 Bonus Miles After You Add An Authorized User In The First 3 Months From Account Opening: This product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months. With this bonus offer, you will qualify and receive 5,000 bonus miles after your addition of an authorized user to your account during the first 3 months from account opening. 5,000 bonus miles will only be awarded once, for the first authorized user added to your account regardless of how many total authorized users you add to your account. After qualifying, please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus miles to post to your account. To be eligible for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default, and authorized user must be on your account at the time of fulfillment. These miles do not count toward Premier status. If your account is not open for at least 6 months, United and Chase reserve the right to deduct the bonus miles from your MileagePlus Program account. Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the 5,000 bonus miles, which will post directly to your MileagePlus account and not appear on your credit card statement. The promo code is for the SUB not the authorized user bonus. |

You can do the Gateway for 40K (30K for meeting the spend requirement + 5K with a valid promo code + 5K if you add an authorized user.) The authorized user 5K bonus isn’t dependent on using an in-flight promo code. |
But can I use the same promo code for both the Explorer card (just approved) and the Gateway card (will apply at a later date)?
*I mean the flt attendant promo code |

I don't really pay attention to credit card world but my understanding from conversations with friends on both sides is that the promo code is just unique to the UA employee (flight attendant, club agent, etc.) that gets credited for the sign-up and not to a specific sign-up. E.g. the same promo code can potentially be used thousands of times for a particularly prolific flight attendant.
