United not recognizing Aeroplan FF or *A
 
Hi, I know there's a thread from a couple years ago with people having issues adding Aeroplan Number to their United Flight. Wondering if anyone have experienced issues more recently.

I gifted my fiance a 50k status and she booked a round trip flight thru United, she was able to add her Aeroplan FF on reservation (so far no issues).
However, during check in, her FF section says none listed on the APP. No *A benefits. No free checked bag, no prio boarding. She went to the airport and the agents were able to plug in her FF # but *A didn't show up.
I called AC and explained the situation, but they said everything on their end looks fine. She has no spaces or hyphens in her name. So I'm confused why the systems won't sync...? It sucks, cuz it's such a big perk to have it not work properly.

Someone mentioned, they connected with AC IT, how do I even contact them to look into the issue?

A physical card or a card in the app should work for prio boarding and usually also to get bag charges waived. Certainly works for lounge access. Did she try that?

There can be many reasons why *A status does not show up. Did the AC# not show up? Or just *G? Did the flights credit to AC?

Was the status gifted shortly before the flight? It takes time for *S and *G status to be replicated to other airlines.

FWIW, AC also charged me for checked bag, despite of the fact that *G was on my BP. They eventually refunded the charge, which you can request for the same from UA.

Did you gift her 50k as a Super Elite selection or did you give her a status pass? The latter only applies on AC flights.

So the AC# showed up on her reservation, but when she checked in thru the United App, no number showed up. We called United and they " supposedly added" her number to the check in but *G did not show up. She has only flown the first leg, unsure if the miles are credited yet. The annoying thing is she has to pay for checked bag and bumped down to boarding group 5 without the *G.

I gifted the status in January. She had this exact same problem last year as well. She often travels with me, so it doesn't matter most of the time. Just sucks that it keeps happening when she travels solo.

I gifted her the 50k as a SE.

Interestingly, she asked the United lounge staff. One of them said that because it's gifted status, the 50k's *G only applies to Air Canada... I'm not sure if I believe that, if that's the case, then why even call the gifted status 50k... Her card also has *G logo on it... I'm so confused as to what's going on. Another interesting fact, she has no issue adding her AC FF# on an ANA flight coming up! Feels like something is going on with AC and United backend sync...
