Maybe these days, or in the near future they'll use "AI". It makes sense with so many variables but I just hope there will be a sanity check somewhere.

Just let UA have its AI dig through FT forums. And we'll have widebodies operating domestically every 30 minutes in every market with full Polaris meal service. And if anyone is left on the upgrade list, run an extra section. :D

No, they're probably using the "FT speculation threads" model to drive the MP changes.
But they have a wealth of what I assume is good historical data on all facets of their operations, I would thinking that someone is/has developed some models to drive their current/future operations.

not necessarily, b/c the cargo may not be at the airport yet. But anything that does not fit on you can reroute to a nearby city and make a connection via truck.
