Low yield
I knew flights like this existed, but I’ve never seen one

There may be BE tickets and third party tickets (with no seat selections yet) not accounted for on the seat map.

Assuming that’s today, Monday afternoon is much lower demand than Monday morning. Also leisure travel drops off around this time of year.

I think that's the point, with the empty E+ seats but Y showing "full" suggesting this is a low-yield flight.

I had a summer flight to Mickey Mouse land that was totally empty on the seatmap just outside of T-24 WineCountryUA correctly pointed out my error...the flight went out full. I was probably the only pax on the flight not seeing Mickey :p

The early morning CLT-IAD (UAX E175) that goes anywhere between 6am and 615am is like this about 5 days of the week. Sometimes at start of boarding First will only be 3/12 and Economy Plus just a handful. Even other airline crew non-revs make First. Regular coach is usually fairly full. But it connects to the daytime IAD-LHR at leaves Dulles around 830am, and I've been told by a couple of agents that a fair number of coach passengers make that connection daily. Also, I fly the reverse of this flight (arrives CLT from IAD after 11pm) and that's normally full.

So 1 pax in Group 1 and 150 in Group 5? :D
The inbound flight from Dublin was late, and by the time the boarding had started, it was the usual boarding chaos; everyone was boarding at the same time...lol. By the time I finally got on board (I chose to board toward the tail end of boarding), some guy was playing music chair; he had at least a dozen people in his group, asking multiple pax not in his group to switch seats; 2 of them sat next to me in E+ (middle and aisle). F full; no upgrades to 752 lie-flat. |
Doesn't mean it is low yield. Just because no Elites are flying isn't an indication that fares purchased were low. The opposite is also true, a full flight does not equate to a profitable flight. If BOS-LHR goes out full with 8 awards and 12 upgrades up front and paying pax paid $3k round trip ... that's terrible for UA ... and the flight might be zeroes across the board.

Am I the blind one? I don't see any mention of which flight this was.

What did the seatmap look like after departure? Or is it still in the future?

I would like to know the route as well. Fares on certain routes are extremely high because of seasonal demands and often passengers are non-elite and non-frequent. Without knowing the route, it may not be as slam dunk the flight is low yield.
