United Next 738 Interior
If I'm reading the fleet spreadsheets correctly, I'm currently on the first (only, so far?) 738 delivered with the United Next interior. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...6918390I'm a huge fan of the new domestic first class.
The seats are more comfortable (IMHO) than the old 738 big leather seats and the newer MAX seats. Similar butt padding to the MAX, but noticeably more back padding.
The divider between seats is great for those guys who overshoot the middle line.
Leg room and lap space is about the same, maybe a bit more lap space. I'm in 3E and the guy in 2E is slightly reclined, but I have plenty of room for my laptop -- as well all know, that's often an issue on the 738 old interior.
The drink cubby by your thigh area is slightly taller and larger -- good for those of us 1L evian water bottle drinkers, who find the other drink holders slightly too snug for 1L bottles.
There is wireless (magsafe?) phone charging unde the center armrest "pad". The outer armrest "pad" covers the tray table. I put "pad" in quotes because this is the singular negative to me -- there is no padding on the armrests. For those of us working who rest elbows there while typing (as I'm doing now), that's a slight bummer.
It's immediately my favorite non-lieflat cabin/config in the fleet.
I'm not one to take photos on planes, but these photos (renderings?) are accurate: https://simpleflying.com/united-airl...st-class-seat/
Note to mods - I would have posted this in the fleet thread with some discussion of 738 Next rollouts, but it's closed. If I missed another thread this belongs in, my bad.

Its an amazing seat, it was also surprisingly comfortable on my flight I took it back in July. There was also a hidden second drink tray that pops out from the armrest in the seat up front too!

But does the tray table weigh 1,000 pounds and is impossible to get in/out comfortably and correctly on the first try? This has been my biggest issue with the latest 'new' first class seats (been around several years now). I HATE the tray tables.

They also get slightly out of alignment pretty quickly. Or maybe I'm confused and it was the previous version. I've never managed to bring a set of allen keys with me to make adjustments when I get one that's out of whack, but have often wished I had.

This is one thing the A220 gets right imo, push button to open the tray table.

Thats a feature of the MiQ seat, DL, AA, UA all have it as their current premium economy, DL (A220 only), AA, AC, AM all have it as their domestic first seat on new deliveries... etc

my issue was that the tray table would literally be sitting on top of my legs (I am a large human). is there more vertical space? also, the tray table was took close to the seat back making it way more snug that it should be.

What aircraft type is that? Thread says 738 but it doesn't look like 738. Are there 757 with new new seats?

It is indeed a 738, currently the only frame (#3259) with the NEXT interior. There are 4 more in mod right now, and eventually, someday... they will all have the new seats/interior.

Oh man, I guess I must have gotten really lucky a few weeks ago then. Ended up on this airframe a few weeks back, if I remember correctly. I distinctly recall boarding and going "huh ... I've never seen those F seats before"
