How do the Polaris and Qsuite hard product compare?
Hi, I recently had surgery and would prefer a more comfortable, supportive seat. Apart from the niceties and soft product offering of Qatar, how do seats compare? Qsuites would be $400 more expensive on the route I'm looking at.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Qsuite wins every time for me with more personal space and more privacy. Actual good service with great food are just the cherry on top.

On hard product, if your concern is primarily comfort, I dont think theres much between them. Im really struggling to pick between the two, tbh.
QSuite is more private and the food & (especially) drinks are light years ahead. But that was not your question
If you are likely to be feeling tender and a bit weak, I think the onboard service on both is likely to be similar. Qatar a bit robotic, United a bit slack, but if you flag your needs to the crew Id be very surprised if you were not accommodated appropriately. And most of the places where assistance services fall down is the airport not the airline.
So no idea.

OP just had surgery, so my concern is getting into Polaris seat can be a challenge.
the odd number seats have narrower entrance than the even number seats, so pending on the condition of OP, choose accordingly on Polaris.
QSuite wins it for me, though.

So had surgery near my lower spine region. Standing up and moving is actually the most comfortable for me right now, and the pain usually only kicks in while sitting and a bit while lying down. So I am just specifically concerned on which of these two seats provides more support and cushioning.

Polaris is a more comfortable seat. Q suite I found not very good for lounging, though it obviously has ability to convert into a double bed which Polaris completely lacks.
On the food there is absolutely no comparison of course.

And if you are on a Dreamliner, Polaris seats across the board are even more tight.

I think it would depend on where you are going. I think the minimal amount of time spent on a plane would be best. Flying to Europe via Qatar from the US(assuming OP is US based) may not be ideal even if its a better seat.

Some Polaris seats require twisting to get into and are very tight, they also make narrower beds. I would go with the Q-suite.

OP, where are you flying to/from or rather connecting? UA doesn't fly to DOH and QR will fly via DOH ... what is your final destination? With what you describe I'd not only look at the seat, but also at the entire journey.
