757 IFE/Wifi Issues?with Iphone 13?

Anyone else been having issues getting persona device IFE to work reliably on a 757 these days? I have no issues on other aircraft but this is how my last few flights have gone on a 757:

1. Join wifi network. Says connected but internet unavailable.
2. Wait till we get airborne. Wifi starts working.
3. Start a movie. Watch 5 minutes and it freezes. Crashes app.
4. Disconnect from Wifi, reconnect, set movie back up.
5. Repeat 3 and 4 multiple times until I give up or the plane lands.

Latest app?
What personal device?
Are watching the UA provided movies or one from the internet?
Which 757 are you referring to? 752 or 753?
With routing?

Note wifi and internet are two different things. WIfi provide that plane's video service and internet is not needed. Internet is for access to off-plane resources.

Did you purchase internet service? or using the T-Mobile sponsored access?

With routing? Had this issue on both DEN to IAH and last year both ways between SFO and HNL

Answers above. Just trying to use UA provided IFE.

Greetings from UA1216, a 752 running BOS-SFO today. Wifi works plenty fine the entire flight.

Sounds like pretty vanilla use of wifi IFE. Vague remember some issue at iOS for some due to a setting but I am an Android users, so my iOS skill are nil.

I have not had issues with 752s either, however most 752s to Hawaii will not have internet service, just wifi IFE.

Do have issue with other UA aircraft? (Appears not based on OP)

Nope. Has worked fine with everything other than the 752. The first time (Hawaii) I figured it was a fluke. Having it happen again has me wondering what the problem is.

I find it hit or miss with private relay and reduce app tracking enabled on the WiFi network.

any third party ad blocker will almost surely make it fail

I remember being on a 757-300 late last year (SFO-IAH if it makes a difference) and noticing the wifi not working while seated, and so I figured the wifi was down. But when I got up and walked around, it was fine, then not working again when I sat down. I have rarely flown in 753, so first time I've noticed something like this. My best guess is that the wifi was weak in that specific row - I figured maybe right between two of the wifi routers/transmitters or whatever, so was a weak signal to the device. I haven't been on a 753 since so can't verify. I was in row 18. Wife also had the same issue on her iPhone as well.

There are multiple access points throughout the cabin. I've seen maintenance logs showing individual access points being found inoperative and being replaced. That would affect only a section of the airplane at a time.

I turned both off as I've had that remedy the issue before. However everytime the wifi connection failed/timed out/froze and I had to disconnect/reconnect, I'd have to disable those again.
