Date change hack to view waitlist early -- dead again (website & app)
A user on Reddit found a way to be able to see the upgrade list several days in advance (like we used to be able to do).
They were able to view the upgrade list on June 7th for a flight on June 13th, a full 6 days out. Any idea how they are doing this? It looks like they've done this multiple times recently: https://www.reddit.com/r/unitedairli...es_of_upgrade/ https://www.reddit.com/user/zman9119 https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...31f3bd5bed.jpg |
Yes, this is a well known ability. You adjust the date on you devie to the date of the flight and using a web browser (not the app on a mobile device) to look up the flight status and upgrade list. You can do this "7 days" prior to the flight. Flight is on Monday, you can see on the prior Tuesday. The device date must be within the normal 3 days of the flight

Is the date hack broken?
Have a flight in four days. Changed the date to 4 days from now and loaded the web page. The standby and upgrade lists simply say "Our system is experiencing some issues. Please try again." Been doing that since last night. -RM |

Surprised that all these software gigs haven't come up with any new tricks, or they may just don't share their tricks with public anymore.

UA's only participation on this forum these days is they monitor for customer-favoring IT quirks, then eliminate them.

Considering this has been posted about/a thread has existed on FT for the past year (?), I think it's more likely they monitor Reddit than FT anymore.
