"We are unable to complete the check-in process at this time."
 
Seeing this exact message for my flight tomorrow. Not only am I unable to OLCI, but I lost my seat assignment and the flight status page shows an empty seat map. Never encountered this before.

Were your travels touching Newark? I know where I'm departing from (via ORD) everything EWR is a disaster this morning -- we're currently hosting a 777 from SFO and something from LAS -- and flights are being canceled and reinstated, you might be seeing the recovery from that

Were you able to get seat assigned again, and did you have to call in?

I guess it must be that whenever this happens to a flight, someone somewhere has to call in.

I did try to call for a seat assignment but agents couldn't assign seat either. They called supervisor who said flight is restricted.

Domestic flight EWR-SFO tomorrow - the only segment in the itinerary.

"We are unable to complete the check-in process at this time. Please proceed to the airport for assistance."

No checked luggage, and I am traveling alone.

This is the 2nd carrier I have gotten such message.

I hope this does not become a regular trend as I do for TSA security screening. I'd get "randomly" selected around a third of the time, as a "trusted" traveler.

Meant to say in my original post seeing the similar msg with 2 different carriers now, this year alone.

Will head over to the airport tomorrow and try to figure out what's going on. With the other carrier, they didn't see any blockers, but I was able to print my BP from the airport kiosk by myself.

UA reps couldn't figure out why I was getting the msg on the app. I was issued a paper boarding pass eventually, and right after that, the electronic boarding pass also appeared in the app.
