Can’t find ticket on VN with PNRs UA gave [resolved]
Hi all, long time lurker. Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I recently bought a ticket from United for Vietnam this summer, SMF-SFO-ICN-SGN, the ICN-SGN leg is on Vietnam Airlines. Upon purchase I get a PNRs for United, Vietnam Airlines, and for something called Galileo. When I go to Vietnam Airlines, the PNR United gave me doesn't seem to work. Additionally, my receipt doesn't show the seats I picked, though they appear in My Trips. I'm worried that something is wrong with the ticket, it says it's ticketed with a 016 number.

Welcome to FT.
You can enter the ticket number starting with 016 into the manage booking popup on the vietnamairlines.com website. That should help |

Galileo is a Global Distribution System formerly used by United (under the name Apollo -- it's complicated). I would guess that Vietnam Airlines (VN) probably uses it. There's nothing to be particularly worried about here. UA sometimes gets the wrong PNR information for other airlines. I agree with the suggestion to try your ticket number (on your receipt, starts with 016), and if that doesn't work, call VN, identify yourself, and ask for your confirmation number. |
Thanks for the replies all. I tried entering the 016 number and it said it or the last name was invalid. I will try to contact Vietnam Airlines later.

I was able to contact VN and confirm that the PNR I got from UA was correct. They also told me that the reservation didn't have an email associated with it, and that's why I've been unable to access it on the website. I guess it didn't transfer over automatically when I booked the ticket. Maybe it's because it went through Galileo for booking a non Star Alliance flight.
