Below were the preorder choices. No change except the burger is now a steak burger with peppercorn sauce instead of a burger with bacon and bbq sauce. That’s an improvement imo but YMMV. Quite tasty with the pretzel bun. I would order it again. PDB of water or sparkling wine. Bread was warmed and fluffy, as was Pie in the Sky. Grain salad is the same as end-2022 but a nice choice in my opinion albeit a bit garlicky. Young, energetic, attentive crew. Good start to domestic flying in 2023! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5529b100f.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7a20fb14d.jpeg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...eaeb13e79.jpeg |

PDB was orange juice or water Impossible meat balls or chicken dish. Cookie was not bad, though a bit oily, bread was on top of it; the dish and bread were nice and hot but the utensils were ice cold for some reason! Grain salad was good. Meatballs were good, but whatever was under it was a bit mushy. My first time getting a coffee - was actually not bad! DC based staff was very attentive throughout the flight though the captain stopped service about halfway through the flight due to turbulence and had all the FA's seated. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e2f82e7b70.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9621f3fa6b.jpg |

I pre-ordered the five spice tofu. Ergo, I did not receive the five spice tofu (well, this is the first time my pre-order has not worked out, and it worked out on the earlier connecting segment as well). The flight attendant had my pre-order, but catering just gave me something else??? I ended up with the cheese blintz. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d79de138f8.jpg The blintz was not filling and would be more appropriate as a breakfast item. It was filled with cheese. The blackberry sauce tended more towards generically sweet. The salad was good but not green enough. The bread roll was nice and toasty. The pie in the sky was nice and toasty as well, but was not the chocolate chip one? I submit this as evidence: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...55292f84d6.jpg If I had to guess, I would say that it was pumpkin spice flavored. |

MCO-DEN 2 Jan 7:48am 737 MAX 9. Got upgraded at T-24 so not sure if pre-order was available but it seemed like FA was asking everyone what they wanted. Choices were waffle or frittata. PDB was sparkling wine or OJ.
Frittata was a little spicy, perfectly acceptable though. Spinach is smashed down at the bottom. Croissant wasn't stale. Overall friendly and attentive crew! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7aaf332e8.jpeg |

Looking at booking SLC-ORD in March and breakfast is listed as the meal. Will this flight have a real meal or the cold meal/snackbox served at smaller UA spokes? Thanks!

I can't find the meal pre-order thread, but I sent in a complaint about the missing pre-order and got a $50 ETC thrown my way.

Japanese Curry chicken or ricotta pasta (no preorder available since widebody) |
09JAN UA2086 PVR-IAH
Japanese Curry chicken or ricotta pasta were offered. I was excited for Japanese curry since I had not checked this forum in a while and was happy for something other than Al Pastor. This was not what I expected... curry is cheap, rice is cheap, why not serve something that is actually curry???? https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d1110da58.jpeg A2086UA2086 |
UA 1849 MCO-EWR 1555-1838 737-900
PDB of Water or Sparkling Wine. Choices of food were "chicken with orzo" or "cauliflower rice bowl". I asked for the fruit and cheese plate from the back but they didn't have any. I ate nothing and went to Classified at EWR which despite costing me $70 was in every way the right choice. |
Choices were penne with marinara or chicken curry
Chicken was overcooked https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3a9503fac3.jpg |
