How would you handle unsanitary FA hair issue?

On a recent regional partner flight, one of the FAs had waist length hair that was free flowing. As she was serving passengers drinks, her hair kept falling forward in front of her face. She was continuously flipping her hair back over her shoulders, several times at each row as she was preparing the drinks. I would normally get a mixed drink, but decided not to as I found the hair flipping to be unhygienic. I would think that they should train FAs not to do those kinds of things. Would anyone have said something to her? Write to UA CS? Just ignore the behavior?

In the grand scheme of things this is so minor I wouldn't even have the motivation post about.

Let it go.

If you she or others on the plane were breathing or doing anything else on the plane that could have been equally or more unsanitary. Write that up too /s

I have to agree with others - I would just let that go.

That said, I love the female hair standards on Gulf and Asian airlines - they exist for a reason and I still don't understand why looking "uniform" is now seen as uncool rather than professional.

Then, I guess, you wouldn’t have minded her hair falling in your drink like it did for the passenger across the aisle from me.

I spent 24 years in the military eating oil, grim, mud and dirt and whatever else was on my hands at mealtime. I actually like Balut. I have eaten all kinds of stuff in Korea, Vietnam and Thailand that most people would literally cry about. That is kind of where my standards are. I also think most airplane food is good.

Some FA with hair that might touch my drink isn't in the top 1000 things I would care about with my drink.

If it was an alcoholic drink then wouldn't the alcohol kill any germs? At least that is my theory on why I drink alcohol - kills the germs!

It's not something I would get worked up over, even her hair falling in my drink. I would probably just put my hand over the drink or politely move her hair to the side. I don't think hair is any more or less gross than the 9 million other things we touch every day.

I am a confirmed germaphobe, and I would probably have been... mildly annoyed at most.

What would I have done? If anything, it would probably have consisted of asked her if she was able to mix my drink without dunking her hair in it.

Not particularly. I might have asked for a new drink? Or maybe not. Are we taking about a strand of hair or a full on dunk?

I imagine that this sort of thing only became an issue once the beverage carts were gone and FAs no longer had both hands free. Are those coming back or are they gone forever?

That which does not kill you merely pospones the inevitable. Though in many cases, it leaves your immune system compromised and makes you much weaker.

Or ask for the components so you can mix it yourself.
