This us an archive thread, the active thread is General discussion of UA's inflight service (Domestic / International, all cabins)
previous thread: COVID Era UA inflight service changes

Thread is for general discussion of the state of UA in-flight service / catering, comparison to other carriers, past UA offerings and concerns with management decisions.

For a specific post about a recent in-flight food, use the appropriate Let's Eat .... thread.

The current Onboard Service descriptions by UA.com

Long-haul international premium cabin dining
North America, Caribbean and Latin America premium cabin dining
United Economy dining

Since the UA website is extremely vague, I'm looking for a few volunteers to submit data, and I will summarize to complete the wiki. kind regards, phkc070408

The aircraft had been parked at Dulles for two days. There is no reason that the cleaning crew shouldn稚 have seen and resolved the stain, as well as these stains on the plastic covering behind your head when in lie-flat mode as seen in the pics below. Coffee-color stains on the underside of the overhead bins too. Just a dirty cabin overall.

But...but...but what about United's state-of-the-art aircraft cleaning regime that was designed to ensure we had a spotless, virus fee cabin? For our safety and comfort, of course.

A day or 2 after they announced that CleanPlus I boarded and there was a dirty tissue stuffed in the cubby beneath my video screen. Went & got wipes & gloves from the boarding FA. After her colleague finished the announcement about the program.

Same ol, same ol on today痴 SFO-SIN👎. Same 3 entrees (short rib/salmon/veg chili), same desserts/breakfasts/mid flight sandwiches. No tomato soup/grilled cheese.
You壇 think UA might want to lead or innovate on its longest flight.🙄

You'd think but then you'd have to contend with Kirby Kwality.

Hopefully Nov 1 brings back all the goodies.

If Kirby could shaft this route one last time with a dumpy 2 class 789 he would.

It won't.

Sadly, the upgrades are only to Australia - same old, same old for SIN.

No doubt. I have a little ritual when leaving LHR.

1. LH Lounge for a 🥨
2. SQ lounge for a Nasi Goreng 🍜
3. AC lounge for the cheese spread 🧀
4. UA lounge for the egg breakfast 🥚

After the last few years of dealing with the hot mess that LHR is on any given day -- my routine is simple:

1. Run the gauntlet hurdling / ducking useless barriers to get to *A boarding line without dealing with any agents as I dont have any checked bags and have my BP
2. Watch "experienced" travelers look incredulous when their liquids are rejected
3. Watch my carry on get "pushed" for an extra inspection to determine if my deodorant is compliant
4. Walk 3 km behind people that have never seen any historical pictures
5. Enter the UA lounge, make a hard right, get yelled at and then apologized to
6. Enjoy the UA lounge for Wine, Wine, Wine, Proper sausage, Wine, Wine, Wine, Proper bacon, Wine, Wine, (Wine if delayed)
7. Board plane
8. Beg for anything but the PDB Prosecco -- get denied --start movies
9. Refuse J food -- ask if Y food has the Thai curry -- smile when FA knows exactly what I mean
10. Sleep
11. Wake up and deny the pre-landing "food"
12. Land and wait 30 minutes for a gate
13. Arrive at gate and get yelled at the whole way to customs / watch the EWR staff sleeping in wheel chairs
14. Get to curb and then fight with Uber driver that didn't know I was going to Manhattan -- and make him take me
15. Get home and open Wine and repeat....

Xyzzy, artvandalay, st530 and 1 others like this.

I left out so many precious tidbits -- but anyone flying into EWR knows those lol! Arrivals in EWR now no longer get a paper receipt to show the guard for global entry -- they see a picture which tells them to walk out -- which I did and almost got tackled by CBP as I exited -- and then got yelled at -- and I yelled back! I told him their instructions suck and it told me to exit the area -- he admitted that was right and they left out the part for the person to verify your name lol --not sure which is worse EWR or LHR....

Here痴 a picture of the pathetic snack options on that flight from last Friday night SFO-SIN

12 hours in between meals, and Kirby thinks a 1oz cheese sandwich and a packet of chips is acceptable on a multi thousand dollar ticket.

I brought a pot noodle with me and asked the FA for hot water

SQ has a number of hot and cold options. The tom yum noodles with shrimp were very nice.
