This us an archive thread, the active thread is General discussion of UA's inflight service (Domestic / International, all cabins)
previous thread: COVID Era UA inflight service changes

Thread is for general discussion of the state of UA in-flight service / catering, comparison to other carriers, past UA offerings and concerns with management decisions.

For a specific post about a recent in-flight food, use the appropriate Let's Eat .... thread.

The current Onboard Service descriptions by UA.com

Long-haul international premium cabin dining
North America, Caribbean and Latin America premium cabin dining
United Economy dining

Since the UA website is extremely vague, I'm looking for a few volunteers to submit data, and I will summarize to complete the wiki. kind regards, phkc070408

Indeed, the problem is likely FAs did not get the memo. They are supposed to hand out stoopwaffels or pretzels…I think some instinctively look for the bag and when they don’t find it, they don’t look further. This should be remedied shortly. Catering should also load snacks in the front galley, not just the back. Keep in mind, the bags have been with us for two years and it is only the 3rd of September.

Try to remember it's the 3rd of September...

Is that any different from Y service?

I wrote in to 1kvoice noting that the website still says baggie for flights between 300 and 800 miles and asking them to clarify whether UA is providing any food at all to premium cabin passengers. I'm sure I'll just get some nonsense canned response thanking me for being a valued 1K but if we don't complain that will send the message that we don't care either.

Yes that's been established over and over again in a variety of settings. But thanks for confirming that your blame the passenger narrative is completely false.

Huh? If UA thought this was something something passengers valued they’d potentially keep it not eliminate it.

Not quite understanding that logic though;
If most passengers complained about the E seat comfort, would United just rip all the E seats out?

Elimination isn't the ONLY solution, or a particularly good one.

No. I think what passengers fail to understand is things UA perceives are beneficial to passengers that they don’t appreciate will be cut. I hate the baggies. Ok. Let’s eliminate them.

Asked for a can of seltzer with no ice/glass/cup. FA came back with an open can, and claimed she spilled some when asked about the open can. She apparently spilled a lot because the can was half empty, and no one else ordered the same.

Hello, 2005 called, they want their seltzer back!
Let's hope this is not a "thing" like it used to be!

I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a memo.

I admit I am woefully ignorant here, but can't you order a snack box from the back?

Delete. Incorrect response due to only reading the other poster's question and not reading the other poster's quoted post.

Good question; don't know if those are stocked. Not sure I want a snack box on PHX-SFO, I'd be happy if they'd just pass the snack basket, as they on AA and AS.

Sub-30 minute regional flight from take off to touchdown between LAX and SAN had drinks and snacks handed out in F on Delta. FA also did two rounds of trash collections in main cabin and double that in F.
