Yes - bags making the connection is always a concern too, especially if there are delays that cut down the layover time. My personal MCT is often closer to 90 min, particularly if going through airports prone to weather during certain parts of the year. I know some would consider that extreme/unnecessary but that's my personal preference.
Given that I was planning to overnight at CMH the night before anyway, I'm leaning towards asking UA to let me fly CMH-DEN the day prior and then overnight at my own expense at DEN and then fly DEN-OGG on the day I'm scheduled to do so. For the piece of mind, all I'm out is a the price difference in a hotel for DEN over CMH and an extra day of parking at the airport.

UA just changed my January flight from YYZ to SFO, they did offer a no change fee. Is it better to change now or wait until end of December where things settles down, my hope is that I can change it to something that offers Polaris (not 100% sure if I change now, they will change my new changed flights). Any insights on this?

Ideally, I would prefer a nonstop flight. But United doesn't offer that anymore, so right now the best option I have is probably through EWR where I can get on the Polaris product from EWR to SFO. I just don't know if I change to that now, if they are gonna change to a different fleet that's not Polaris

One another note, I have had two agents now tell me I need to reticket the new itinerary since it is beyond the 7 day period.
Complete non-sense with schedule changes when a route like SFO-HKG is being pushed out. Any advice on what to do next besides get a refund?

Domestic schedule updating for Feb 11 - March 3rd.
Unfortunately, my CRJs are staying CRJs. It was a good run having -550 and E175 service for over a year, but come January it’s my only option, the stupid Devil’s Chariots have fully re-infested ORD, and the -550s continue to mostly stay at EWR and IAD. But, as least I still have UA service—unlike 11 other similarly small markets!

nasty domestic February changes loading
BOS-SFO lost the 752. If UA is thinking anyone is paying their stupid premium prices for flying a 73M ... they are very mistaken. I am cancelling and rebooking on B6.

as to when it changed, did you just receive an email now? The UA nonstops YYZ-SFO seem to have moved back to start in late March quite a while ago - I checked at least a month ago and they were no longer there in Jan.
I’d be wary of the AC schedule holding, especially those widebody frequencies as widebodies (the evening flight departing YYZ has been pretty consistent, just not on a 788). Looks like currently, AC is still scheduled for 2 x narrow bodies per day on YYZ-SFO in early Jan ( 1 x 220, 1 x 320), and it’s only ~Jan 10 the schedule grows to 4 x, with two narrow bodies and two widebodies ( 2 x 737 Max, 1 x 788 and 1 x 789). I’m highly skeptical they’d grow the capacity that fast. AC also had that in the schedule in the past, and has kept pushing back that kind of capacity increase. I’d honestly be more surprised if that increased schedule and widebody utilization held, vs. schedule changes back to narraoboodies, and 2x, at most, 3x per day. If the OP wants a widebody, best tack is going to be to book a connection in ORD/EWR, probably via EWR for best service. Biggest variable is weather in Jan, which can cause problems at YYZ or the connection points. And with those YYZ-EWR/ORD flights all on UAX now, that means any weather issues are potentially worse on that vs. mainline connection. So YMMV on that.

Looks like early January changes loading tonight. Some of my 1/3/22 flights have lost seats and seatmaps are unavailable. Let's see what UA has in store ...
