Two different thoughts that got badly intertwined. While not presently in service, the Diamond 2-4-2 are starting to return to the schedule in future dates. They have been grounded due to engine issues. Awaiting the first live sighting report

Does one earn PQP on economy plus seat purchases on award tickets? and if so how long should it take for the PQP to post?

Have a revenue ticket that I want to cancel. Used $600 copay and 30k miles to upgrade from Y to J. Upgrade is confirmed.
When I go into the app, I see the revenue portion will be given as a future flight credit and the 30k miles returned. However, it doesn't mention the $600 copay. Will that also be refunded? Credit or cash back to card?
Does this credit have to be used on this route? Or any UA flight.
Finally, when is the latest I can cancel and still get the full credit?

The flight FFC, if an totally unused ticket, can be used for any new booking.
Before the flight closes (when you would be marked a no show), to be on the safe side, at least an one hour before scheduled departure.

On two of my flights with United (CDG-EWR) and (EWR-MUC) last week pillows and blankets were only at the aisle seat in economy class but not at the other seats. What is the reason?

Depends on what you mean by "active".
UA has 22 772 which have some rear-facing IPTE Business seats (like you flew before) in a 28F or 32F "domestic" configuration, but all of them are currently non-operational and most of them are parked at VCV. The seatmap for this type appears in far-out schedules but it's anyone's guess if/when they will fly again.
There is one more three-class (F/J/Y) IPTE frame which has been in HKG since March, presumably to have its seats reconfigured.
The rest have Polaris seats, all of which face forward.

I misspoke, the Diamond seats on the 2-4-2 have forward and reverse seats -- such as above, But no reverse seats in polarized version.

I am flying SFO -> ORD on a polarized 777 leaving at 11ish PM and arriving at 6am. I've never flown red eye in first. Do they give you a blanket/pillow or will I have to bring one. Thanks

If I buy two tickets, for my wife and I, does she get the air miles and other status aspects also, PQP etc.?
She has her own UA membership.

The traveler always earns the miles and status, regardless of who pays.

I recently bought 3 one way tickets, in regular economy. It was a bit complicated, as I had both future flight credits and travel credits to use. Even though I monitored the fare, waited, and only purchased after the fare had dropped by $50 per ticket, which I thought was a smooth move on my part, the price has since dropped an additional $60 per ticket for regular economy.
In case it matters, the first ticket was completely covered by a future flight credit. Then the remaining amount from that future flight credit was reissued as a travel credit. The second ticket was purchased using 2 separate travel credits, and then paying the remaining balance by credit card. The third ticket was purchased by using a different future flight credit, and then paying the remaining balance by credit card.
Is there any easy way to try to get a credit for $60 per ticket, $180 total, due to the subsequent price drop, or does the fact that I used future flight credits and travel credits either preclude it, or make it near impossible to take advantage of the most recent fare drop?
Any feedback is appreciated.
