Just like last year at this time, planes are relatively empty again. Good for stretching out and a lot of poor man's lie-flat seats.

Had to cut my SF trip way short due to some personal matter - just got to SF hours ago 
Purchased a same-day ticket (thought the fare bucket would be closer to Y, but still W), man, load is way down. half of the 772 J cabin is empty, and everyone on the upgrade list will clear, and there would be still 10+ seats empty.

Combination of Covid and the normal after Christmas/New Year's dropoff, I cleared hub-to-hub between ORD and SFO + SFO to IAD without doing a thing, on a K fare I purchased for less than $200 all-in - part of larger itinerary which had included ORD-SFO-IAD.
Just like last year at this time, planes are relatively empty again. Good for stretching out and a lot of poor man's lie-flat seats.

I had no shot on my original flight 787-10 with 44 seats and 40 seat taken about 2 days out. Due to weather waiver, I was able to switch to a 772 with more capacity upfront. And I would be able to get to SF earlier as a bonus.
This is my 15th upgrade using PP in the last 13th months - all economy fare buckets like G or K; some I was able to 2 transcon flights (e.g. EWR to SFO and turn back within 4 hours) for only 20PP total.
