    I would have been very willing to buy up if the offer was at $100 per 20 Plus Points ($1400). But I knew the offer would never be that low...
    That's wild when you missed organic upgrade by $2,366 PQP. I hope you're using a UA card to hit PQP.

    You hit the nail on the head for me. United almost tempted me.
    7775 PQP
    12 PQF
    Upgrade Gold to Platinum $2,958

    Below is why I decided NO:
    1.I could have just bought 2,025 PQ at the end of 2021 for probably $2,250 to $2,500, but previously decided against it.
    2. The below difference in benefits (I primarily listed the additional benefits that come with Platinum.)
    Pre Board G=Grp1 P=Grp1
    70 LB Bags G=2 P=3
    Econ Plus G=+1 P=+8
    Plus Points G=0 P=40
    Phone Book G=$25 P=$0
    Points X fare G=8 P=9
    Better Premium
    Cabin Award
    Travel Availability G=No P=Yes

    I would take the first offer they gave you listed above, but my offer is more than double though my numbers are almost the same. I may call in because they did not include the 2,000 PQP I got through the Club Infinite card. Maybe if they fix that, I will get a more reasonable offer?

    If 2K PQP is retroactively added to your existing PQP, then you wouldn't need additional consideration. The requirement was:

    15K PQP or 13.5K + 36 PQF

    My existing PQP is 13,978. The PQP listed on the offer was only 11,978. The offer was missing 2K PQP from Chase.

    Uh, not quite.

    OP would have had to spend in 2021 that much more for just the PQPs.

    Since we're now in 2022, only option left is to either spend for the elite status buy up. Failing that, then start spending now to accrue the necessary PQPs to meet 2023 status levels.

    Offer for Platinum: $4486

    I actually checked this page to see how much to upgrade for Gold, but it looks like they bumped me up anyway! I normally make use of E+ at booking a lot, so I would've been willing to pay to upgrade to Gold. Glad they pushed me up anyway. Hopefully 2022 allows for more flying this year.

    I did consider the Plat upgrade but it's too much for what is basically the PlusPoints. I rarely get upgrades so the improved priority probably wouldn't help unless I'm 1K.

    I am confused.

    My 2021 status was Gold, with the following totals by year's end:
    PQP = 5584
    PQF = 5

    At My United, there this message: "Congratulations! You’ve earned Premier Silver status for 2022. We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to being part of your most important journeys to come. This status is effective February 1, 2022."

    When I click on the status buy up link provided in this thread, I get the following:
    2022 Status Earned: Premier Gold
    "Discount" Offer for Platinum = $4,569

    So what is my 2022 status? Silver or Gold? I'm not interested in buying up to Platinum but would pay for Gold if it's not too much. Otherwise, I may spend my money on a Club membership or Economy+ seating.

    TIA for any insight into what my 2022 status really is!

    I take it to you were bumped up by the system to Gold. Pretty similar numbers to me so I guess the algorithm must've both pushed us into Gold. So we're good.
    Yeah if the buyup to gold were like $700 or less I would've paid it for the G1 boarding and E+ seating. I usually fly on my own money and for leisure so both are great when sitting in the back. Apparently this means I have gold and don't have to pay anything! Now fingers crossed the pandemic lessens (going away isn't gonna happen it seems) so I can start traveling again.
